Authenticity: the design stands out clearly with a powerful profile and shows a visible kinship with Volkswagen's SUV family. Best in class for comfort. Superiority: a sense of high quality comes from every element and detail. Generosity: optimal use of the available space. With five passengers on board, the new Tayron's impressive boot reaches up to 885 litres. Volkswagen will offer the new Tayron with a total of seven efficient drive systems. The range includes two new-generation plug-in hybrid drives (eHybrid). They are a highly innovative drive solution, as they allow over 100 km of electric range in everyday use and efficiency on long journeys, for a total range of around 850 km between charges. In addition, its ability to tow up to 2.5 t makes the new Tayron a stylish, well-equipped tow vehicle for trailers of all shapes and sizes.

Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars: "The new Tayron is a true Volkswagen: it shows quality in every detail, is comfortable and practical in everyday life, and comes with a wide range of drives. Volkswagen's new SUV extends our portfolio in a growing segment and lets us fill the gap between the best-selling Tiguan and the luxurious Touareg. I am convinced the Tayron will make its way and be well received by our customers."

Martin Sander, member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales: "The new Tayron combines everything that defines Volkswagen: flexibility, comfort and new technology. With up to seven seats, a high-quality interior, plenty of storage space and innovative drives, the large SUV is the ideal companion for families and adventurers alike. At the same time, with the Tayron we are making it clear that practicality and efficiency complement each other perfectly, for a driving experience that meets our high standards."

Kai Grünitz, member of the Volkswagen Board of Management responsible for Technical Development: "Like the Tiguan and Passat, the Tayron also benefits from the advantages of the MQB evo. With many technology modules, the model impresses with a new generation of plug-in hybrid drives with up to 100 km of electric range, first-class interior quality, an intuitive infotainment system and the latest generation of driver assistance systems, including voice control with ChatGPT."

A powerful exterior profile, a premium feel inside.

At almost 4.8 m long (4,770 mm), the new Tayron stands out with a bold and striking SUV design. The profile is clean and powerful. Very precisely drawn lines divide the surfaces and give the silhouette impressive contours: a character line starts at the bonnet, then forms a slight edge below the lower edge of the side windows and runs on to the D-pillars. At the front, the LED headlights and the standard illuminated Volkswagen badge create an unmistakable light signature at nightfall. The same goes for the rear of the SUV, which has a continuous LED light strip across the back on all versions. The narrow LED strip runs from left to right across the top of the rear lights and visually emphasises the Tayron's width. In the middle the strip narrows; the lower half of the VW logo, which is also lit in red, stands visually free.

The precise lines, the long roof and the tight panel gaps emphasise the Tayron's silhouette, showing its character as a high-quality and extremely solid SUV.

The same approach has been applied to the interior of the new Tayron. It stands out with high-quality materials and a clean, stylish design. The materials used inside are soft and pleasant to the touch, which, together with the connected cockpit and the generous space, creates a calm and harmonious atmosphere. Depending on the equipment, the surfaces are refined with piping, fine contrast stitching, large areas covered in ArtVelours Eco in the door panels, usually found in exclusive sports cars, and even open-pore real wood trims.

Tayron "Life": everything on board. The Tayron will launch with three equipment lines: Life, Elegance and R-Line. The range starts with the Tayron Life, which comes with a rich package of standard equipment. Among other things, it has the following on board: three-zone automatic climate control, 10-colour ambient lighting, nine airbags, a driving mode selector (it controls the driving profiles, including an all-wheel-drive profile on 4MOTION models, the audio system volume and the activation of Atmospheres, pre-programmed lighting and audio moods), an infotainment system with a 32 cm screen, an activatable navigation function and App-Connect Wireless (for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), digital instruments, LED headlights with automatic high-beam control (Light Assist), an illuminated Volkswagen logo at the front and rear, sun blinds on the rear doors, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

A wide range of assistance systems. The range of standard assistance systems on the new Tayron is extensive, even from the Life level. It includes adaptive cruise control (ACC), a turn assistant, a lane change system (Side Assist), a lane keeping system (Lane Assist), an autonomous emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring (Front Assist), Park Assist Plus, a rear-view camera system, dynamic road sign recognition and a next-exit warning system. The new exit warning system is also standard. It is an extension of the lane change system and, within the system's limits, can prevent one of the car's doors from being opened if another vehicle is approaching from behind. The system gives both audible and visual warnings.

Attractive optional equipment. Optional extras you can add include DCC Pro adaptive chassis control with adjustable two-valve dampers, IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights with interactive lighting functions, and Travel Assist, which provides assisted longitudinal and lateral guidance across the whole speed range. Also available: the new IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT integration (AI, artificial intelligence), a large panoramic sunroof, a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system, high-quality leather upholstery for the ergoActive Plus seats with massage and ventilation functions, and last but not least, electronically controlled child locks on the rear doors.

Mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, petrol or diesel. As well as all versions of the mild hybrid drive (eTSI), Volkswagen will offer the Tayron with two plug-in hybrid drives (eHybrid), two turbocharged petrol engines (TSI) and two turbodiesel engines (TDI). All versions of the Tayron shift through a dual-clutch automatic gearbox (DSG). While the base eTSI engine with 110 kW (150 hp) has every quality to be called a high-tech drive system (a mild hybrid with 48 V technology), the advantages of electric and petrol drive are optimally combined in the two innovative plug-in hybrid drives. They deliver system outputs of 150 kW (204 PS)5 and 200 kW (272 PS)6 respectively. Thanks to a 19.7 kWh (net) battery, both versions of the Tayron eHybrid can achieve an electric range of over 100 km. The battery can be charged not only at an AC wallbox and AC charging stations with 11 kW but also, like an electric car, at DC fast-charging stations with up to 50 kW.

The most powerful TDI, with 142 kW (193 hp)2, is very economical and comes as standard with 4MOTION all-wheel drive. All Tayron 4MOTION versions with a tow bar can tow a trailer weighing up to 2,500 kg (braked, up to a 12% gradient). The Trailer Assist system, standard equipment when the car is ordered with a tow bar, helps the driver by automatically adjusting the trailer's steering angle through active steering intervention when reversing. Trailer Assist makes life easier for the driver and makes manoeuvring simple even with bulky loads such as boats or horse trailers.

[56

post-32","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-vw-novini
["GET
